Job competition water technology

For the first time 10 teams from German cities could prove their skills in a competition for four days. Each team consisted of three people. At one station the teams had to create a process flowsheet with the aid of a process description. At the most time-consuming station there were tasks with subjects as plant engineering, measuring and open and closed loop control. Exercises on the chemical analysis of water samples also belong to the job profile. At other stations the issue was safety when the working area is in the middle of the road, as well as during climbing into and down a manhole.

The competition has shown how diverse the profession category water technology has to be. The apprenticeship takes 3 years and after 18 month one of three directions can be chosen:
Specialist for water supply engineering
Specialist for wastewater technology
Specialist for pipe, channel and industry service
